Teresa is co-founder and CTO of Neopenda, a social enterprise startup creating high-impact, affordable medical devices for emerging markets. Teresa holds a Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University (2016) and a Bachelors degree in Bioengineering from Santa Clara University (2014). Her academic research background in biotechnology and cell-based therapeutics, including a fellowship at Dow AgroSciences and graduate work in the Nanotherapeutics and Stem Cell Engineering Laboratory at Columbia, spurred her early dedication to finding innovative solutions to unanswered health challenges. Teresa manages Neopenda’s extended product development team and combines close field work with users and advanced design to create sustainable, high quality products for low-resource environments that improve lives.
