This session is an overview of the Internet of Things. What is it, how did we get here and what is the impact to our society now, and what are predictions for the future. What convergence of technologies led to this revolution (e.g. ubiquity of smart phones, cheap data plans, low energy sensors, evolving network technologies, advances in AI and machine analytics, etc.) and what are some of the pitfalls and issues that need to be addressed (e.g. security, privacy, lack of standards, what to do with all the data and how to make it actionable and meaningful, etc.)
